SpiceJet Holi FlashMob at the Delhi Airport


Lat year,we got the skies roaring with colors of Holi. This year, for Holi, we surprised all passengers at the Delhi Airport with an electrifying Flash Mob performance!
The passengers loved every bit of it and even requested us to do a repeat performance for them.
Well, we definitely didn't mind at all.

WHAT TO EAT: BEFORE AND AFTER WORK OUT



When it comes to gearing up for workout, carbs are your best friends. The key is to have a mixed bag of complex and simple ones so that the release of energy during your workout is slow and steady throughout your routine. 
So, here is a list of what to eat before and after your workout which takes care of your health and the after work out hunger pangs (We all know how tempted we are to just hog on junk after a vigorous work out :P)

1) BEFORE : WHOLE WHEAT TOAST WITH SLICED BANANAS AND CINNAMON


Whole-wheat toast with fruit gives you both types of carbs with the bonus of being super easy to digest. Complex carbs will keep your motor humming, while the fruit adds an extra kick of energy. For those training for a race, bananas are perfect in raising potassium levels, which drop when you sweat a lot. For an added bonus, add a dash of cinnamon. The spice has been linked to stabilizing blood sugar and improving brain function.

AFTER :GRILLED CHICKEN AND MIXED VEGETABLES



Your body is in recovery mode, so you need a nutrient dense dish. The lean protein and carbohydrates in chicken will fill you up without feeling overly bloated. Add some veggies in olive oil to keep your ticker in tip top shape.

2) BEFORE: GREEK YOGHURT AND TRAIL MIX



Getting ready for a long run? Eat some yogurt first. It's easy on your stomach and when paired with trail mix can give you the little rev your body needs. Just make sure to choose a mix that is mostly nut and dried fruit based with as little fillers as possible. (Yes, sadly we're talking about those little chocolates!) The healthy sugars from dried fruit provide that quick energy boost while seeds and nuts will keep insulin levels from dropping mid-workout. Just remember, a little bit goes a long way

AFTER : VEGGIE PACKED OMELETTE


You already know eggs are a great source of protein and help aid in muscle recovery and growth. Switch it up from the usual scramble and make a veggie-packed omelet. These vitamins are stocked with antioxidants, the best boost for your body, inside and out.

3) BEFORE: SMOOTHIES

Need a snack on-the-go on your way to class? Stick with a smoothie. Not only are they time-friendly, building your own blend has a bunch of exercise benefits. For a foolproof formula, use your favorite sliced fruit, a cup of Greek yogurt and some granola for a thicker consistency. If you're picking one up, check the label to make sure it's made from whey or milk-based proteins. And no need to go overboard — 10 to 20 grams of protein before exercising is plenty.

AFTER:  WHOLE WHEAT TUNA,HUMMUS AND SPINACH SANDWICH


If you're a lunchtime exerciser, this is the sandwich for you. Tuna is low in calories, but high in protein and carbs. Hummus is a better-for-you spread over mayo or mustard, while also being high in fiber. And last but certainly not least, spinach is a produce powerhouse, handling everything from curbing your appetite to boosting your complexion and lowering blood pressure and inflammation.

4) BEFORE: OATMEAL WITH FRESH FRUIT 


Oatmeal is the workout buddy you never have to nag to exercise. It sticks with you throughout your workout by gradually releasing sugar into your bloodstream. Adding fruit to your bowl will help increase the fluid content of your pre-workout snack, keeping you hydrated.


AFTER: CHOCOLATE MILK


Recent research has shown that chocolate milk  is the latest craze in post-workout snacks, even over water and sports drinks. That's because it has everything you need in one glass: carbs and protein for muscle recovery, water content to replace the fluids lost as sweat and calcium, sodium and sugar — all ingredients that help you recover faster, retain water and regain energy.

STYLED : For the fitness fanatics!

As a Zumba and Pilates instructor, I workout EVERY single day! Not that I mind it in the least, but I need an extra push every now and then. And of course, a new pair of workout clothes does the trick!

Being solely a black and grey person, I've taken a while to add some color into my workout wardrobe! And boy, has it been rewarding!


Jacket : ONLY

Leggings  : Forever 21

Love love this Jacket. It keeps me so warm between all the travels to my classes. The leggings are a great funky addition and look fabulous with a loose T-shirt! 
I've been digging this cut of a workout T-shirt and own at least 5 of them! 

I even cut up my own T-shirt in the same style and it turned out great! (I wore it in my Bailamos Video)

The biggest advantage of this razor-back is its sweat-absorbing material! I go through two Zumba classes without having the need to switch tshirts (which is the case with my other t-shirts)
This is my 2nd Cargo from Decathlon and I adore them! Such a refreshing change from my tights!

Love this crop-top! I usually layer it with a colored sports bra and tight fitting lowers.
And finally, my new favorite pants! Thanks to the end of season sale, got them at a great bargain! And the material is fantastic and great to workout in! If you're comfortable with skin fit lowers, definitely recommend this one!

I also got a new T-shirt for my Pilates class! Love the color, although the writing has faded away after 3 washes only! A big boo boo.

THE GREAT INDIAN WEDDING CHOREOGRAPHY!

If there is one event we all look forward to during a wedding, it's the Sangeet. The whole gaana bajaana and the performances are a bit too exciting and make for great memories (not to forget bloopers and pictures!). So while most of us have already experienced a Sangeet performance, organizing one can be tiring task! 





















From making sure your performance looks different from your friend's that you attended this month, yet including all the latest tracks, from coordinating everyone for rehearsal's (which never happens!) to ensuring the boys have all the "liquid" they need to move their limbs, you need to be on the run to put up a fabulous show!

  • Decide your songs : We have a list of over 200 songs categorized according to different groups that perform. Whichever era suits your taste, we have it all
  • Set your practice dates and times : And yes, we work after 8 pm and on Sundays :)
  • Edit your music, write your script, find your anchor, set up your DJ

What do you need to organize an unforgettable Sangeet?
  • If you’re a couple and just want to get a 3-4 minute dance performance prepared with the help of our expert wedding choreographers, call us.
  • If you want a BIG INDIAN FAMILY DANCE, create a list of all family members – cousins, uncles, aunties, grand parents etc who will be coming to the event – you will need this list for invitations anyway, someone may have already made it.
  • Put a tick against every person’s name whose dancing on your event would make you really happy.
  • Call those people and ask if they’d be willing to dance. Do tell them that it is a time commitment and that they will need to spare a minimum of 1 hour on 6 different days to be able to participate.
  • You can also make a list of your favourite songs and try to think of the groups of people and which songs they’ll be dancing to. Once we meet, we’ll give you some ideas on songs, but it’s good to have thought about it once before we meet.


Of course the wedding season keeps us on our toes and busy till we pass out. But in this whole process, we make such great friends and relations that we never feel like we are working!

New Year shenanigans and new classes!

Hello Everyone!

With the New Year kicking in, Soul to Sole Greater Kailash Studio has a brand new look. So excited to share with you the new space.
