You know the drill. January 1 is approaching and you’re filled with dread over the need to make New Year’s resolutions.
Drop the dread! We’re here to help you get a jump start on your resolutions with 10 tips for starting your new year out right.
1. Learn Something New (Bonus: Learning Zumba is easier than learning Chinese. If you already take Zumba classes, master a new move.)
2. Get Fit: Fancy equipment not required. Experience the intoxicating, giddy exhilaration of a Zumba class.
3. Change What’s On Your Plate: Look beyond New Year’s black-eyed peas and 12 lucky grapes and alter your food choices to consistently include more fruits, veggies and water.
4. Reduce Stress : Aerobic workouts are key to calming down and controlling tension.
5. Embrace The Music : Since the best part of your previous fitness regimens was probably the music, you’ll be glad to know that in a Zumba® class, it’s still all about that bass, as Meighan Trainor would say.
6. Connect : While you won’t hear “Auld Lang Syne,” a New Year’s Eve song about fellowship and old friends, in a Zumba® class, you will feel a sense of community and belonging.
8. Get More Sleep : It’s the secret to good health. And more movement throughout the day = more ZZZs
9. Be Mindful : Ditch that run-of-the-mill workout you’ve become tired of. Instead, focus on the here and now, and be more intentional with how you spend your time.
10. Keep The Party Going : After the ball drops on Dec. 31, continue the revelry – because the Zumba program is its own party!
